Arctic Glaze installs bespoke aluminium secondary glazing to reduce heating costs and to create a peaceful family home
Preventing heat loss and blocking noise from busy main roads can be a significant concern for homeowners. This period family home based in Wolverton is situated next to the main road, the traditional timber casement windows provide poor acoustic and thermal insulation.
With a newborn in the house, the homeowners wanted a solution to provide enhanced noise reduction from the close-by road. After a consultation and house survey, Arctic Glaze recommended the installation of horizontal sliders and tilt-in balanced vertical sliders with acoustic laminated glass.
Acoustic Laminated glass is manufactured with a Polyvinyl butyral interlayer, this is designed to substantially reduce noise levels. This glass type, teamed with precision-engineered secondary glazing will help resolve heat loss and prevent noise from entering your home. Our bespoke secondary glazing is slimline and discreet, allowing it to blend into the room environment.

Our range of bespoke tilt-in balanced vertical sliders provides access to the primary window, the panels tilt-in to the room, allowing you to easily clean the rear of the panels. The panels are supported with durable spiral balances which support the sash whilst open in any given position.
To match the style of the traditional casement windows, Arctic Glaze also specified the installation of horizontal sliders, they are a cost-effective solution to block noise and reduce heat loss. Where security is a concern, our durable aluminium windows securely lock and can help prevent unauthorised access to your home.
With a mess-free installation, the homeowner was pleased with both performance and aesthetics. They commented
"Noise from the nearby road was becoming a concern as we have recently had a newborn, after speaking with Ollie at Arctic Glaze he re-assured us that the installation will have a positive impact on noise whilst making our home warmer. The windows look great, and we are thrilled with the outcome."
