Arctic Glaze design and install thermally efficient, secondary glazing for a period property located in the heart of Kent.
Homes with period windows and single glazing can often find it difficult to minimise heat loss and lower energy consumption. This wasn’t an exception for Stephen, a Kent-based homeowner of a Grade II Listed Property. As a result of high energy costs, Stephen contacted Arctic Glaze to help specify and install a slimline secondary glazing system designed to minimise cold draughts and increase thermal insulation.
After visiting the property, Arctic Glaze recommended the installation of 3-pane horizontal sliding and lift-out secondary glazing with 4mm toughened low-e glass.

Horizontal Sliding Secondary Glazing is an extremely versatile secondary glazing system. It is one of Arctic Glaze’s most popular styles and is often installed within period properties to help minimise heat loss. Manufactured from durable aluminium and powder coated to provide a maintenance-free finish, the glazed panels can be lifted from the secondary glazing outer frame to provide full access to the primary window.
This secondary glazing system features draught-proof strips and an integrated locking mechanism designed to increase security.
