Arctic Glaze’s range of Bespoke Secondary Glazing creates a peaceful home by turning traffic noise into whisper
Homeowners situated next to busy main roads can find it challenging to reduce the noise emitted by heavy traffic entering their homes. This modern property with double glazing and located in Reading was no exception. Tired from the constant drone from adjacent traffic, Gilly (homeowner) contacted Arctic Glaze to understand how the installation of Secondary Glazing could reduce noise entering her home.
Arctic Glaze recommended installing 6.4mm acoustic glass with the Secondary Glazing system installed with a 200mm air cavity. To treat the large bay window, slimline horizontal sliders were coupled with hinged units to match the function of the primary window. Arctic Glaze installed a three-pane horizontal slider to substantially reduce noise entering the main bedroom, which matched the three sashes in the primary window. This ensured that the Secondary Glazing system was invisible from the exterior of the building whilst providing an additional barrier to cancel noise from entering the property.

"The services provided by Arctic Glaze was head and shoulders above any service I have ever received from any tradesperson. Jonathan was excellent at communicating and as well as clearly being a technical expert in installing windows, he was really helpful, friendly and most importantly, he did exactly what he said he would do and communicated quickly at all times. He proactively kept in touch to keep me updated on time scales for installation. I never had to chase. The windows were installed to an excellent standard and have massively reduced the noise from the busy road we are on. I spoke to a lot of window companies and it was a very easy decision to choose to work with Arctic Glaze- the communication was fantastic, they were honest, professional and I can’t speak highly enough of them.”
