Arctic Glaze was contacted by the facilities manager of The Nomad Hotel situated in London to design and install a slimline and discreet secondary glazing solution. Bespoke secondary glazing was specified to decrease noise entering the guest bedrooms from an adjacent internal fan. Each bedroom features a large glazed casement window that required a slimline acoustic secondary glazed solution.
After conducting an initial site survey, Arctic Glaze recommended the installation of double hinged units with 6.4mm acoustic laminated glass. With durable aluminium frames, hinged secondary glazing is commonly specified to treat large casement windows, the glazed panels open inwards providing total access to the primary window for cleaning.

Where noise levels are a concern, acoustic laminated glass is commonly recommended as it features a thin layer designed to specifically minimise noise. It is ideal for providing enhanced acoustic performance, impact resistance and security since it may break on impact but the glass is held in place thus preventing injury or intrusion.
