Secondary Glazing Enhances Security

Durable Secondary Glazing creates a discreet and unobtrusive barrier that can help protect your property from forced entry. Period properties that feature single glazing can be vulnerable as the single glazed windows provide low-security protection, Secondary Glazing is manufactured from aluminium and is designed to increase thermal and acoustic insulation while providing enhanced security.

As standard, our slimline Secondary Glazed systems are installed with toughened glass which is 5 times stronger than ordinary float glass, this makes it more difficult to break as the force required is much higher. In addition to toughened glass, we can install laminated glass which is designed to stay in place if broken. Secondary Glazing is extremely difficult to open from the exterior of the building, the glazed panels lock into place to create a secure barrier. The aluminium outer frame is mechanically joined with durable metal cleats, these cleats re-enforce the frame and make it rigid.

Our Hinged Secondary Glazing range features multi-point locking and key lock handles are designed to substantially increase a building’s security. If you’re looking for a Secondary Glazed system to increase acoustic insulation, reduce heat loss or increase security please contact us to discuss your requirements.
